Hello – my name is Shawn Mesa and I am an attorney who specializes in Immigration Law.
I am a Tampa native and graduated from Jesuit High School. I attended the University of Florida and graduated from the South Texas College of Law in 1999. That same year, I was admitted to the Florida Supreme Court and I am also admitted to the United States Middle District of Florida. I am an active member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
My main area of practice is Immigration Law, because this is an area of law that is very meaningful and near and dear to my heart. My family history is that my grandfather moved his family, including my father, to the United States a few years prior to the Cuban Revolution because my grandfather felt the government threats to the well-being of his family. He wanted his family to be safe, and to live and thrive in an environment that would allow them to become anything they wanted. I still feel the impact of what this meant to my father’s family, and to me, years later because the United States presents a tremendous opportunity for immigrants who want to make America their home. I, too, am married to a Canadian immigrant and because of her and my daughter, my life is made better. What my grandfather did many years ago has enriched all of our lives, and I know that our country is made wealthier in every area of life by the contributions of our immigrants.
In my spare time, I enjoy time with my wife and daughter and our families. I also practice Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and recreational cycling which is a wonderful way for me to enjoy the outdoors.
My greatest satisfaction is helping others to achieve their U.S. Immigration goals. I want to help you, too!
So, if you are contemplating taking the steps to become a U.S. citizen, please contact my office at 813-679-5780, and let’s get started. You and your family can enjoy what this great country has to offer, the same way my grandfather and his children did many years ago. Let’s make this the first day of the rest of your life!
